Police are investigating a suspicious fire which damaged a house in the early hours.

A blaze in the front garden of a Sheerness property in Victoria Street also resulted in damage to the home.

Officers were alerted to the incident at 4.25am and arrived at the scene with fire crews.

The blaze was extinguished and no injuries were reported.

However, police believe it could have been started on purpose and have launched a probe into the suspected arson.
