Members of the Island’s hidden creative community will be showcasing their work this weekend.
The Times Guardian revealed last month the reason the Love Sheppey stones were being placed in different locations was in the lead up to the exhibition.
It will take place today (Saturday) at Barton’s Point Coastal Park, off Marine Parade, Sheerness, from 11am to 5pm.
There are more than 25 exhibitors signed up to show off their work – which will all be of professional quality.
Among the work on display will be some by Sheerness resident Garry Pike, who died in June.
He was a self taught artist and around 30 of his paintings will be on show.
The event is to be a celebration of the Island’s talent as well as its nature, culture and heritage.
Other highlights are set to include work by a brass sculptor who has won numerous commissions around the country, a wildlife artist who has won national awards and a photographer and author who has had books of her work published.
There will also be a display of a collection from some beach and estuary combers who produce furniture, art, jewellery and sculptures from what they discover.
Many of these artists have never before exhibited their work on Sheppey.
There will be a fossil road show and members of the Isle of Sheppey Camera Club will have an exhibition.
Entry is free and anyone who has found a Love Sheppey stone is reminded to bring it along with them for the prize draw.
