Youngsters chatted about art before designing their own gingerbread men and enjoying afternoon tea with some of the Island’s more senior members.
Children from West Minster Primary School went along to nearby Davie Court sheltered accommodation scheme in Sheerness to see some of the paintings, poetry, and other creative arts people who live there had made to show them.
They were joined by other elderly Islanders who brought along some of their own artwork for the afternoon.
They were given art demonstrations and given tips on knitting and making tapestry.
The day was the idea of project manager Sarah Hardman who was inspired by the art of resident Stanley O’Bray who passed away shortly before the visit.
She said: “It was a really good day and good for the residents who go to show the children that although they are of a certain age , they still have interests.”
