Police have arrested a man following reports of an assault.

Officers were called to Coronation Road, Sheerness, at 8.50pm yesterday.

A 18-year-old man suffered a serious ear-to-jaw wound to the side of his face.

He was taken in an ambulance to Medway Maritime Hospital, Gillingham, for treatment.

A police helicopter was called out to help with a search of the area and an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault.

Inquiries are ongoing.
