Some of the Island’s bravest men and women stripped down to their swim gear to go for a post Boxing Day dip.
The icy cold plunge was organised by the Minster Beach Huts Association and attracted nearly 30 keen bathers.
About 100 spectators gathered on the promenade opposite the huts along the Leas to watch the hardy souls take to the freezing waters.
In temperatures made all the more bitter by a biting off-shore wind, the group's challenge was to enter the sea and complete at least five swimming strokes.
When they returned to shore, mugs of mulled wine and hot chocolate awaited.
Organiser Mark Whitton said of the Minster Leas splash about: “It’s something that we started last year and that we hope will grow bigger and bigger over the next few years.
“It’s a nice social event to get people together after Christmas.
“It was very cold this year - if you’ve got a hangover it helps with that!”
