A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital following a crash on Sheppey.

Lower Road, Eastchurch, was closed following a collision between a car and a bike just after 2pm today.

The accident happened near the entrance to Brambledown Farm Shop.

A police spokesman said: "Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where the motorcyclist was treated for injuries.

"He was taken to a local hospital for further medical attention and the road is now open to traffic."
