Biker taken to hospital after accident on Kingsferry Bridge, B2231 Sheppey Way

A biker has been taken to hospital following an accident on Kingsferry Bridge.

The incident along the B2231 Sheppey Way caused the route to be closed in both directions for more than an hour.

Police confirmed they were called at around 9.51am yesterday (April 7) to reports of a collision involving a van and a motorbike.

Ambulance crews also attended the crash.

A spokeswoman added: “We assessed and treated one male patient at the scene before taking him to Medway Maritime Hospital for further medical treatment.”

It is understood that the biker did not have serious injuries.

Officers closed the road in both directions while the incident was being responded to.

It reopened at around 11.20am and traffic returned to normal.
