Sheppey biker Andy Price was given a show-stopping send-off as a cavalcade of Harley Davidsons escorted him on his final journey.
Sheerness High Street resounded to the classic motorcycles’ roar as the father-of-four’s coffin was carried to the funeral on the back of his vintage trike.
Andy, also a grandfather-of-one from Second Avenue, Sheerness, died of a heart attack aged 60 on July 29.
The former steelworker and plant driver was a member of the south east branch of the Harley Davidson Club.
About 70 fellow members attended his funeral at Holy Trinity Church and provided an outriding guard of honour as his coffin was escorted to the Garden of England Crematorium in Bobbing.
During the town centre service, club member Andy Jacobs played a harmonica version of the Last Post.
Sylvia Price, Andy’s wife of 12 years, said her husband “would have loved” his last goodbye.
“It was standing room-only in the church which is a mark of how many friends he had,” she said.
“Andy owned the black casket he was carried in, he used to fill it with beer when he went to rallies.”
Following the service at Bobbing, a wake was held at the Co-op Club in Sheerness.
“I’d like to thank everyone who attended the funeral,” Mrs Price said.
