Fire spreads to football club pavilion after bonfire spreads in Queenborough Road, Minster-on-Sea

A large bonfire blaze has spread to a football club pavilion.

People living close to the fire in Minster-on-Sea on the Isle of Sheppey are being told to close windows and doors due to the flames and billowing smoke.

Six fire engines have been called to the incident which was reported shortly after 7pm to Queenborough Road.

It has not been confirmed which football club has been affected of the three based along the road in close proximity to each other.

Crews are using breathing apparatus to help them battle the fire.

A fire service spokesman said the incident had caused the fire to spread to a wooden pavilion and two containers.

The incident is ongoing and further reports about the damage caused to the structures has not been confirmed.
