People are being advised to avoid having bonfires after firefighters were called to several sheds alight in the early hours.
The fire took place in Prince Charles Avenue in Minster, Sheppey, and two fire engines attended.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said embers from an earlier bonfire had caused one shed to catch alight and the flames then spread to the other outbuildings and neighbouring fences.
The fire service is now advising people against having bonfires at all but said if people had to they should take a number of precautions.
"The current advice is to avoid having bonfires, but if you do choose to have one, please do so safely," a spokesman said.
"Bonfires should be kept to a manageable size and lit well away from any property, trees or fences. Be sure not to leave any controlled burning unattended and dampen down the area once you’re done."
"It’s always best to inform your neighbours in advance to avoid any concern," he added.
Firefighters were called to the blaze at 1.15am and headed back to station at about 2.10am.
The fire service said one shed was destroyed, three others were "significantly damaged" and no injuries were reported.
