A three-year-old boy was found wandering the streets of Sheerness in just his underpants.
The blond-haired tot was discovered by worried residents and reported to police.
Neighbour Zoe Garnett said: “He was between two or three and had blond hair, blue pants with some sort of pattern on them and nothing else. He seemed a bit confused.”
She said: “He was found on the corner of Jefferson Road just before the school gates and was looked after by a couple who kept him warm while waiting for the police.”
A police spokesman said: “Police received a report that a young child had been found alone in James Street, Sheerness, at 8.47am. Officers went to the location where the child had been reunited with its parents. The matter has been referred to Kent Social Services.”
It is understood the boy got out through a garden gate on Monday.
