Trains were suspended on a busy line due to a fault on a bridge.
Southeastern services were unable to run between Sheerness and Sittingbourne due to issues on the Kingsferry bridge.
The rail company posted on X, formerly Twitter, early this morning to announce the line between the towns was closed.
“Services on the Sheerness-on-sea line remain suspended at the moment because of a fault with the Kingsferry Bridge,” it added.
“Replacement buses are in place between Sheerness and Sittingbourne in place of any cancelled trains.”
The company updated passengers to say the line had reopened shortly after 10am.
The nature of the fault on the bridge has not been confirmed.
This is the second time in just three days that services had to be suspended on the line due to issue on the bridge.
On Thursday, trains were stopped for around an hour during the morning commute due to issues with the level crossing on the bridge.
The issues were swiftly rectified by engineers on that occasion.
