Sheppey Crossing reopens onto island after lorry breaks down

The Sheppey Crossing is now open to traffic heading onto the Island after a lorry broke down.

The bridge was shut ahead of recovery work, after the lorry broke down at around 7am.

Fifty minutes later the bridge was closed, but it took a while for the lorry be moved.

Traffic was queueing between Grovehurst Road around the Kemsley turn-off and Sheppey Way, for the Leysdown turn-off.
