Drivers are being reminded one of the Island's busiest roads is to be closed next week.
From Monday, Barton Hill Drive, Minster, will be shut for 12 weeks due to roadworks.
Those who would normally turn left from Lower Road will be diverted through the Thistle Hill estate, ending up back at Barton Hill Drive near the Sheppey Community Hospital.
Temporary double yellow lines will be put along parts of the diversion route, including in Thistle Hill Way from the roundabout and one side of Plover Road.
It is hoped it will improve the flow of traffic.
The closure will be in place so that the new roundabout can be connected to the road and the existing traffic lights taken away.
The project is one part of a two-phased improvement scheme to make journeys easier on the Lower Road and is set to be completed by January or February next year.
In spring 2019, phase two of the project, which will see the Lower Road widened will begin.
