More than 100 people attended a candlelit vigil for Kent and borough councillor Cameron Beart following his sudden death.
This evening, friends of the Conservative councillor attended Queenborough Park to show their love and respect for Cameron's dedication to the Sheppey community.
On Friday police and paramedics were called to Cllr Beart's home in Oak Avenue, Minster, on the Isle of Sheppey in the early hours of the morning.
The 31-year-old Conservative represented Queenborough and Halfway on Swale council and had been elected to represent Sheppey on Kent County Council in May 2021.
Many believed he was being lined up as a parliamentary candidate for Sittingbourne and Sheppey to succeed MP Gordon Henderson.
Queenborough Town Council supplied the candles for this evening's remembrance service.
Cassie Burton, who worked with Cameron at his day job of a buyer, said: "It was emotional this evening but so warming to see so many people.
"To know and see just how loved and respected Cameron was, will hopefully give his family some comfort.
"At least 150 people came out but many more were turning up as we were leaving half an hour later.
"He was an amazing person with a heart of gold, and the funniest personality. He will live on in our memories.
"I don’t think anyone can believe it, I only spoke to him on Tuesday."
On Friday Mr Henderson told KentOnline: "This has come a tremendous shock to my parliamentary team and me.
"Cameron worked very closely with us on a number of issues affecting Sheppey and helped resolve the problems of so many people on the Island.
"On a personal level, I will not only miss Cameron’s invaluable help, sound advice, and common sense but also his loyalty and friendship.
"Cameron was an outstanding councillor who always put Sheppey’s residents before party politics. He will be sorely missed by many people, particularly his family to whom I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences."
