Car driver in M20 death crash is named

A YOUNG car driver killed in a crash with a lorry on the M20 has been identified.

He was 23-year-old Kenneth Blanshard, who came from Sheerness.

Mr Blanshard was at the wheel of a Peugeot 306 which was in collision with a foreign-registered lorry on the coast-bound carriageway of the motorway at Lenham, near Maidstone.

His parents, Liz and Martin Blanshard, live at Manor Road, Rushenden, near Sheerness. Mr Blanshard was pronounced dead at the scene. His woman passenger was taken to the William Harvey Hospital at Ashford with minor injuries.

Officers from Kent Police’s serious collisions investigation unit are appealing for witnesses to the crash which happened at about 3.45am on Saturday, November 3.

The funeral service will take place at the Garden of England Crematorium, Bobbing, near Sittingbourne, at 3pm on November 16. Floral tributes and inquiries to G Hogben and Sons, Hope Street, Sheerness.
