A main road was blocked for almost two hours following a crash involving two cars.
The crash happened at about 10am in Minster Road, Minster, between the Barton Hill Drive roundabout and Scrapsgate.
Police and ambulance crews were called to deal with the accident.
A police spokesman said: "We were called at 10am to a report of a collision between two vehicles in Minster Road.
"Officers attended along with the South East Coast Ambulance Service and one woman was treated for shock.
"One vehicle was reported to have overturned and the road was closed while the incident was dealt with."
An ambulance spokesman said: "One ambulance crew was sent but no-one required hospital treatment.
"A female patient was out of the vehicle prior to our arrival."
He added that minor cuts and bruises had been reported.
Minster Road reopened at 11.55am.
