A child suffered serious head injuries when he fell off his bike on land near the Sheppey Crossing.

The Kent Air Ambulance were called to the site off Neats Court Roundabout, on the A249 near Queenborough, at lunchtime today (Wednesday).

When paramedics realised the severity of his injuries he was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, which took 15 minutes.
