Two police officers have been praised after their "quick-thinking" actions saved a baby's life.
Emergency services were called after an 11-month-old tot stopped breathing at an address in St George's Avenue, Sheerness.
Police were told the baby boy had become limp and unresponsive at around 8am on Monday.
Two officers, who were late finishing their shift and on their way back to Sheerness police station, responded to the call knowing they were only two minutes away from the address.
When they arrived they immediately started CPR and by 8.15am the baby was conscious and breathing again.
An ambulance also attended and the infant was taken to a local hospital.
Inspector Stephen Callow, of Swale’s local policing team, said: "The quick-thinking actions by these two officers undoubtedly helped to save the life of this child, and while the officers may think it is ‘all part of the job’ they certainly went above and beyond in order to ensure this incident ended as positively as it could have.
"Officers do exceptional work every day, most of which the public are not privy to and this incident is just one example of that."
