A charity set up to promote the best tourist destinations in the country is hoping to encourage visitors to our Island.
Hidden Britain is working with Sheppey Tourism Alliance, Swale Borough Council and Visit Kent but they want your help with finding the best we have to offer.
They are aiming to encourage holiday makers to take a “country break” on the Island and are looking to put together packages of activities, accommodation, food and attractions.
Now Hidden Britain is looking for people to get in touch with ideas about how best to promote Sheppey.
Businesses or organisations related to tourism are also invited to get involved in the project.
It’s free for them to take part and they will be featured in any country break advertising which is produced from the scheme.
All packages once they have been put together will be advertised on the Visit Kent website as well as in other promotional campaigns.
They also want our readers to help in telling them about the best days out they have had on the Island.
To get groups involved, Hidden Britain is hosting two workshops for people to go along and find out more.
One is being held on Monday at Sheppey Healthy Living Centre, off Royal Road, Sheerness, from 10am to midday.
Another will take place on Wednesday. It is being held at Leysdown Village Hall, Wing Road, Leysdown, from 10am to midday.
Hidden Britain’s development manager James Turner said: “We’ve been really impressed by what businesses and groups can achieve when they work together and the great visitor breaks we’ve been able to create as a result.”
