The annual Blessing of the Waters ceremony is due to take place this weekend.
It will happen at Crundalls Wharf at the Queenborough all-tide landing from about 3.30pm on Sunday.
The service will be led by Rev Jeanette McLaren and is held at high tide so as many boats as possible can view the service.
The ceremony blesses the water and everyone who works at sea.
Church administrator at Holy Trinity Church, Queenborough, Mary Shoebridge, said: “It’s something the local fishing community and rowing club all look forward to and they take part in helping to set things up.
“We usually have about eight or nine boats coming to watch it depending on how many of the rowing club boats there are.
“It doesn’t sound like many but when they’re there it looks a lot.”
All are welcome to attend.
In this week's Sheerness Times Guardian we incorrectly stated the ceremony was due to take place on Saturday. We are happy to clarify it will happen on Sunday and apologise for this mistake.
