KCC Highways is warning motorists to expect delays this morning after a broken down vehicle has partially closed the A249 Sheppey Crossing.

The delay was first reported at 6.42am this morning.

It is understood the vehicle is on the Sittingbourne-bound carriageway on the Sheppey side near Cowstead Corner.

KCC Highways says it is between the A2500 Lower Road and the junction with the B2005 at Grovehurst roundabout.

It described the delays as "severe" on its website.

The blockage was cleared at 7.45am.
