This is Zelia-Mae Harmony Jones – a “miracle” baby for a couple who were going through the worst kind of grief.

Lucy-Rae Tamulevicius and Mark-Antony Jones are celebrating the birth after 12 months which they say has been a rollercoaster of emotions.

The couple, of James Street, Sheerness, were left heart-broken after losing their first daughter, four-month-old Xara-Mae Melody, to cot death in July last year.

Towards the end of the year, they found out 23-year-old Lucy-Rae was expecting again.

Zelia-Mae was born on Tuesday, March 8, weighing 7lb 5oz, which is the same day as Mark-Antony’s dad Alan turned 62. The pair are delighted and Mark-Antony has already had Zelia-Mae tattooed on his arm, next to her sister’s name.

He said they are emotional and both cried their eyes out after she was born, especially because they are approaching what would have been Xara-Mae’s first birthday on March 31.

Mark-Antony, 31, said: “We don’t take our eyes off Zelia-Mae because of what we went through. She’s so special and precious to so many people. She’s amazing and a miracle to us.”

After Xara-Mae’s death, the couple started fundraising for the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths (FSID) in her memory of their daughter and raised more than £5,000.

Mark-Antony said they both plan to carry on their fundraising efforts.
