A whole lot of fun is promised tomorrow (Saturday) at an event to raise money for a cancer charity.

Lee Ewart, of Manor Road, Rushenden, has organised a day of crazy games and entertainment with a bouncy castle, stocks, water pistols and plenty of gunge.

The fun starts at 11.30am and will take place at the

Co-operative Sports and Social Club in St George’s Avenue and there will be stalls selling cakes, bric-a-brac, jewellery and toys.

There is also a toy cow being held to ransom as Lee says that if he doesn’t raise at least £1,000 it will be gunged. If the day is a success and Lee reaches his target he has offered to face the slime himself.

But there is a serious message behind all the silliness as Lee, who lost his mum to breast cancer in 2007 and whose dad had a bowel cancer operation a year later, is determined to support Cancer Research UK.

“I want to do all I can to help,” said Lee. “Cancer has become personal to me and I am determined to do all I can to fight the disease and stamp it out altogether.”

Lee, 47, an operator for Delphi Diesel Systems in Gillingham, says: “Come along for the day, bring some money, have some fun and help the fight against cancer.”

This event replaces the Relay for Life which Lee organised between 2008 and 2010.
