A crash involving two cars just after the busy Sheppey Crossing caused long delays.

All lanes have re-opened after the accident near the Sheppey Crossing, at B2231 Sheppey Way (Lower Halstow turn off).

The A249 southbound was partially blocked with queuing traffic is now flowing past.

Police were called to the collision at 7.49am and officers are currently on scene arranging recovery for one of the vehicles.

No serious injuries have been reported.
