A man in his 20s is still in a critical condition in hospital a day after his black Yamaha was in collision with a red Citroen C2.
The biker, whose name has not been released, was seriously hurt in Brielle Way, Sheerness, at 10.10am. He was flown by air ambulance to St George's Hospital in London.
The road, which is the main route into the town and docks, was closed for more than eight hours while collision investigators worked.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward and say officers discovered some unexplained brake fluid on the road.
They were especially keen to contact the driver of a silver or grey Ford Fiesta, who has since been spoken to.
A police spokesman said: "Officers have now made contact with the driver of the Ford Fiesta who has provided useful information to assist their investigation.
"The investigation team would now like to hear from any motorists who may have driven over debris on Brielle Way near where the collision occurred."
The road closure caused congestion problems across the Island with Queenborough, Halfway and Minster affected.
At one point during the evening rush hour, cars were having to queue shortly after coming over the Sheppey Crossing.
Anyone with information, who has not already spoken to them, should call the police's witness line on 01622 798538 or email sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk quoting reference 10-0270.
