THE 2008 Cute Kids’ competition is just hours away.
And this year promises to be the best ever –with lots of top prizes on offer.
From Wednesday to the following Tuesday, September 30, a professional photographer will be at Sheppey Leisure Centre.
Between 10am and 4pm, he will be taking pictures of children in three categories: 0-12 months, 12-24 months, and 24-48 months.
The pictures will then be compiled and featured in the Times Guardian for proud family and friends to vote for their cutest kid.
Each category will provide a finalist – with a special judging panel deciding who is Sheppey’s Cute Kid 2008.
There’s more than £1,000 in prizes available to the families of the finalists, including cash and gym membership. And this time, we’re offering a special prize that rewards people who vote.
A coupon will be picked, with the winner scooping a family visit to Cadbury World, near Birmingham, and a visit to historic Stratford.
We’re joined by previous sponsors Photo 25 and Serco and new sponsor BRFM, which will be airing a Cute Kids’ advert.
Winners receive a share of a £750 cash pot, framed portraits for the three category winners and a trophy for the overall winner.
This year we aim to make the process of having your child’s picture taken as pleasurable as possible.
The photos will be taken in the foyer of the swimming pool, so parents and youngsters can enjoy the cafe and play area while they await their turn.
Kent Messenger marketing staff will be there handing out free goody bags. These will be available while stocks last.
Finally, voting will be easy – with a new texting system set up.
