Police say a dangerous dog has been 'contained' after people were warned to stay indoors.
Officers were called to Cliff Gardens in Minster, Sheppey, near St George's Primary School, at 10.20am following a report that an unaccompanied dog had attacked another dog.
A spokesman said: "The dog is then reported to have been acting aggressively in the road and officers were deployed to the scene, where they currently remain.
"The dog has been contained, however a cordon remains in place to ensure public safety."
Shortly before 11am, Kent Police Swale tweeted to warn people to stay indoors.
They said: "Officers are currently dealing with a dangerous dog in a public place in Cliff Gardens, Minster-on-Sea.
"Members of the public in that area are advised to remain indoors and others are advised to avoid the area whilst the incident is brought to a safe conclusion."
The dog's breed is not yet known.
