The Island proved its credentials as a prime film location this week when yet another television production company came to Sheppey.

Hot on the heels of Great Expectations and Top Gear was Touchpaper TV, whose actors and camera crew braved the wintry conditions of Sheerness beach on Tuesday morning.

The 20-strong team set up on the sea wall off Marine Parade.

They were making a short film called Ben and Lump, a half-hour drama due to be shown on Channel 4 in the autumn.

The crew was remaining tight-lipped about the film. However, Touchpaper TV’s Coming Up, a series of original 30-minute dramas by emerging writers and directors, is in its 11th year. The current series begins in July.
