Pupils waiting to move into a new school shaped like a plane wing will have to wait another month before they get to see it.
Work has been delayed on the £4.3 million school at Sheppey’s eastern end, which will be an extension to Eastchurch Primary School.
The school, which is being built in Warden Bay Road, near the junction with Leysdown Road, will house 210 pupils.
The cause of the delay is the snowy weather in December and difficulties in arranging the drainage connection.
It had been due to open its doors in September this year but it is now expected that the building will be ready in the October half-term.
Once complete, there will be seven classrooms, featuring renewable-energy technology, including solar panels.
A Kent County Council spokesman said: “Pupils will continue to attend at the existing Eastchurch site until this move.
“The head teacher has informed all parents of the revised arrangements.”
