Did parts of Sheppey wake up to snow this morning?
Despite plenty of photographs apparently showing the white stuff, weather experts insist it was just a heavy frost.
Adam Young, who runs the Swale Weather website, said: "It certainly was not snow as some media was reporting. There was nothing showing on the radar. I have an email from the Met Office to confirm it was not."
But he admitted: "It is a hard one to explain to snow believers, trust me. If it was snow, I would have announced it."
A Met Office spokesman said: "I can confirm that it was a dry morning across south east England. There was some freezing fog though, which can deposit rime which is feathery ice crystals forming on surfaces when water droplets in the fog come into contact with the surface.
"This could give the impression that there has been some snow."
But not everyone was convinced.
Heather Dawes wrote on the Positive Life Today on the Isle of Sheppey Facebook page: "Absolute tosh! There was snow in Sheerness and seen to be snowing."
Kate Barton posted a photo of her dog Maya on the promenade at The Leas, Minster, and insisted: "This was definitely snow. My daughter made snow balls up there. It was the first time Maya had seen snow."
Julia Bird added: "I was up at 2am and saw it falling, definitely snow!"
According to retired professional photographer Barry Hollis is was snow, too.
He sent a picture to us and declared: "You have probably had loads of snow pictures. Here is one at The Glen, Minster, on Sunday morning."
James Mangan of Minster High Street added: "Definitely looked like snow. Part of the water was frozen with birds walking on it. It looked like snow, felt like snow, so must be snow!"
