ANYONE who saw 38-year-old William Charles Murphy in Sheerness in the hours before his death early on Sunday is asked to contact the police murder investigation team on 01795 584162.

Det Sgt John Coull, leading the investigation, said: "We are particularly keen to talk to anyone who saw him from 8pm on Saturday onwards. We believe Mr Murphy visited local public houses in Sheerness and was in possession of a pedal cycle."

Mr Murphy died in Medway Maritime Hospital following an incident in Coates Avenue, Sheerness.

 Lynn Christine O'Regan, 46, of Coates Avenue, was charged yesterday with the murder of William Charles Murphy.
