A grandma who was in hospital for four days after being cut from her car by firefighters says she is still shaken up.
Sharon Millward was in the red Fiesta which was involved in a five-car smash at the junction of Alma Road and Winstanley Road, Sheerness, on January 25.
She has praised emergency services and a mystery good samaritan who came and sat with her before the paramedics arrived.
The 49-year-old was trapped by her leg and Sheppey firefighters cut the roof off her car to release her before she was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital, where she stayed until Saturday.
She said she is still in a lot of pain, has to walk with crutches, has whiplash, back, neck and leg pain and will have to have physio for around three months.
Sharon, of Coronation Road, Sheerness, was driving along Winstanley at about 10.45am when she was in collision with a van that came out of Alma Road.
Another three cars were also involved in the aftermath and both roads were closed while the vehicles were recovered.
She is staying with her daughter Jade, 22, who also lives in Coronation Road, while she recovers.
Sharon said: “A lady, I don’t know who she was, came and sat with me and calmed me down.
“I don’t know what we talked about as I can’t really remember a lot about it but it was very nice of her.
“She jumped in and made sure I was OK – she was a lovely, lovely lady.
“She could have carried on walking but she didn’t.
“I would love her to get in touch so I can say thank you to her.
“I’m laid up now and I’m pretty upset and shaken – I keep crying because I’m coming out of shock.
“But I’m just concentrating on getting better – I’m not one to be kept down.
“I just want to be back to normal.”
Sharon and Jade also thanked the paramedics and firefighters for their quick response and hard work.
