Two drug dealers have both been sent to prison for more than three years after police stopped their car.
Calvin Edeki and Fouad Adetunji were searched and stashes of heroin and crack cocaine were found.
Each were put behind bars for three years and nine months at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday.
The court heard that a police patrol was suspicious of a red Peugeot travelling along Halfway Road in Sheerness on Wednesday, March 7, and stopped it.
Passenger Adetunji, 23, of St John’s Avenue, Sittingbourne, and driver Edeki, 24, of Capstone Road, Bromley, were searched.
Adetunji admitted at the scene he had hidden crack cocaine in his body.
Officers discovered a further 15 wraps of heroin stashed by Edeki.
A mobile phone was seized and detectives recovered deleted messages which showed the men had been dealing in class A drugs.
In court, both denied possessing crack cocaine and heroin with intent to supply but were found guilty.
Edeki also admitted possessing cannabis. Adetunji was found guilty of receiving criminal property.
Investigating officer Det Con Stuart Clayton said: "These two convictions are one of many examples of Kent Police patrolling communities and proactively acting upon suspicious behaviour.
"Both offenders were caught in the act but chose to deny their offending.
"It is entirely proportionate that they have received a custodial sentence.
"This sends out a clear message that those seeking to supply drugs in Sheerness are not welcome."
