A section of Sheerness High Street was closed on Sunday morning.

It was to recover a car which had crashed outside the Royal Bengal restaurant near the traffic lights opposite the train station.

A blue BMW coupe had hit a lamppost, although no driver was present when police attended at about 9.25am.

The car was removed and inquiries are ongoing into the incident.
