Firefighters are at the scene of a blaze at a house in Sheerness.
A crew from the Sheppey station was called at 11.23am to Beach Street.
A fire in the ground floor kitchen spread to the second floor of the terraced home.
Firefighters entered the home using breathing apparatus and were seen using hose reel jets.
They used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the building of smoke.
Everyone inside the house was accounted for and there were no reported injuries.
Smoke could be seen billowing out of the property from Sheerness High Street, which adjoins Beach Street.
Nick Freeman, who works opposite where the fire appended, said: "I couldn't get into the house to see if anyone was in there."
He went on to say he was shaken up.
Fire crews remained at the scene making the area safe.
