Firefighters tackled a blaze at a house in Halfway in Sheppey.
Crews in six fire engines and two cars were called to the scene in Highfield Road, which was cordoned off.
The fire broke out in the roof of the bungalow at around 2.45pm.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets, a main jet, a hydrant and thermal imaging camera to battle the flames.
Roof tiles were also removed to access affected areas.
Aerial footage of the blaze was taken by Robert Hunt here.
Neighbour Neil Tomkins has set up a Just Giving page to raise money for the family. He says they only have the clothes they were standing in when the fire broke out.
