A mum who gave birth after thinking she was suffering with wind is looking forward to her first Christmas with her surprise son.
Tracy Campbell, 38, who had no idea she was pregnant, gave birth to 6lb 12oz Robert Hugh Campbell on Tuesday, June 9.
Now Tracy and her husband Colin, 40, are preparing for their first Christmas with Robert. Tracy, who lives in Alexander Street, Sheerness, had gone to A&E because she felt unwell the afternoon before she gave birth.
At the hospital she was given medication and told she had nothing worse than chronic wind and indigestion.
She felt progressively worse throughout the night, and at 4.30am the next day she gave birth to Robert at her mum Sandra's home in Southview Gardens, Sheerness.
Robert, who is named after his grandfathers, was delivered by his grandmother and his aunt Dawn Williams, Tracy's sister.
Tracy, who is on maternity leave from David Wood Baking in Dorset Road, Sheerness, where Colin also works, said they have settled in well to family life, even though it was a bit of a shock to start with. She said: "We are doing really well.
"Robert's got two teeth through and another two coming up. He's been brilliant with them. We have had lots of support from everyone."
Tracy, Colin and Robert will be spending Christmas at their home.
She added: "Robert's going to be spoilt this Christmas - he's got parcels from all over the world, from friends, family and neighbours. We are really looking forward to Christmas this year now we have got a reason to enjoy it."
