A whole section of the county, including three major towns, is on flood alert.
The Environment Agency has put out the warning for the Isle of Sheppey and the coast from Kemsley to Seasalter.
The be prepared message is for tonight (Wednesday) into early tomorrow and is due to a high tide forecast for 1.15am.
Flooding is possible at low-lying land, promenades and coastal footpaths between 11.15pm and 3.15pm.
The areas in danger include Sheerness, Minster, Queenborough, Leysdown on Sea, Sittingbourne and Faversham.
A spokesperson for the Environment Agency said: “ Tides are expected to be higher than usual due to a large tidal surge and strong winds.
“Areas most at risk include low-lying land, promenades and coastal footpaths.
“No property flooding is expected.”
The agency says high spring tides are expected to continue over the coming days and more messages will be put out if needed.
People are warned to be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous.
The Environment Agency says it will give an update by 9am tomorrow or as the situation changes.
