Four fire engines have been spending this afternoon battling a crop fire over about 600 metres.
Firefighters were called to a field alight in Leysdown Road, Eastchurch, Sheppey, shortly after 1.50pm.
An all-terrain vehicle, which helps getting to areas with particularly rough ground, had to be brought in.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Crews arrived to find a large field of standing crop alight.
"Firefighters used hoses to extinguish the blaze."
No one was injured and it is thought the fire started accidentally.
It had been dealt with by 3pm.
