A fundraiser has been organised for a four-year-old girl who suffered serious injuries in an accident at a theme park.
Jessica Blake fell approximately 14ft from a bridge in the queue for the Tomb Blaster Ride at Chessington World of Adventures in Surrey on June 7.
The Halfway Houses Primary School pupil, nicknamed JC for her first and second names Jessica Claire, was taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting.
She suffered a fractured skull, a bleed on the brain and broken ribs, but is now conscious and talking.
Her mum, Sarah Archer, told members of the Facebook group Prayers for JC - keep fighting sweetheart, last week that Jessica is also sitting up by herself although she still needs some support.
She added: "She has come so far in the last few days and we’re all very proud of her.
"Jessica has also had a dinner tonight and the first thing she asked for was a McDonalds so we’re heading in the right direction, well done JC. Thank you for your support, Jessica sends kisses."
Jessica’s great aunt Tina Taylor is organising the Jamming for Jessica concert, in aid of any rehabilitation the youngster, who lives in Halfway, is likely to need.
It is being held at the Royal Clarendon Hotel in West Street, Gravesend, on Sunday, July 29.
The show, which features bands including The Britpop Collective, Dakota and Rumblefish, starts at 3pm. There will be an auction and raffle.
Admission costs £5 on the door.
An investigation by the Health and Safety Executive into the circumstances that led to Jessica’s fall is ongoing.
