The funeral of Captain John Carter, the driving force behind next year's planned aviation centenary celebrations, will be held on Tuesday.

The 69-year-old was found dead in the grounds of his home on Tuesday, December 9 with serious head injuries.

His funeral will be at Minster Abbey at 2pm.

A reception will follow in the Abbey Hall.

Family flowers only, donations should be made to the Ghurkha Rifle Association or to the Abbey Vestry Fund and should be made through Hogbens Funeral Directors, Hope St. Sheerness.
