Two young girls have been left “devastated and petrified” after burglars stole their quad-bikes from their garden as they slept.
The thieves stole three off-road vehicles worth £3,000 from the home in Plover Road, Minster on Sheppey at around midnight on Thursday, August 26
A quad, Welsh pit bike and Aprilla Rx50 were taken.
Stay-at-home mum Yvonne Minta explained they belonged to her daughters Leah, 14, and Mia, 10, who have been left scared following the ordeal.
“It’s been so upsetting to see how heartbroken my girls have been,” the 35-year-old said.
“My little one is absolutely petrified by the whole thing. It’s affected us all really badly, my youngest won’t even go to the toilet on her own.
“One of our neighbours saw a group of about four people on their Ring doorbell go past with the bikes.
“It’s really made my anxiety through the roof. I’m devastated someone could do that as when they were taken them they would have seen they were for a child.
“It’s made me really sad as when I look at my kids I can just see how lost they are without them. They absolutely loved them.”
Yvonne added how the family had only had them for around two weeks.
She said: “It just feels like my world has been ripped apart.
“It was one of my daughter’s favourite things and she even put some of her own birthday money.
“It was all she’s wanted for a while, and now it’s been ripped away from her in a split second.”
A police spokesman said: “Inquiries are ongoing and anyone with information can call Kent Police on 01795 419119 quoting 46/159385/21.
“You can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or go to crimestoppers-uk.org.”
