Homes and businesses were left in the cold and dark as a power cut struck part of Kent.
Dozens of people on the Isle of Sheppey reported suffering outages earlier this weekend on social media, including a micropub which has had to be hooked up to a generator to restore power.
The Admiral's Arm pub off West Street, Queenborough, decided to close on Friday night and most of Saturday, as UK Power Networks teams dug up the road and worked to fix a fault which occurred on an underground electricity cable.
The pub said after re-opening: "We are here, and although it’s a bit cold, and we’ve only got candle light, you are welcome to come down for a beer."
A UK Power Networks spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a loss of power affecting the West Street area of Queenborough, Isle of Sheppey, at around 11.30am on Friday, February 1.
"Engineers attended and restored power to the majority of customers by 5.15pm, with the final customer restored by a mobile generator the following day.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
