Eastchurch: Hunt for driver who hit parking warden with his car

Police are hunting a man who allegedly hit a traffic warden with his car as he tried to issue a ticket.

The driver was parked on zigzags next to a pedestrian crossing in High Street, Eastchurch when the warden approached him and asked him to move.

While a parking ticket was being printed, the man accelerated towards the warden and hit him with the vehicle, before driving off.

The warden was not seriously injured but suffered pain to his neck and shoulders.

Police have now released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident, which happened shortly after 2.45pm on Friday.

Officers urge anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV images to call the appeal line on 01795 419119 quoting reference XY/26503/16, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
