Search for man with ‘cage full of Christmas trees’ taken from Home Bargains in Millennium Way, Sheerness

The search is on for a man seen pushing along a cage of Christmas trees after allegedly stealing them from a town centre supermarket.

The alleged thief is believed to have taken the festive decorations from the newly opened Home Bargains in Millennium Way, Sheerness.

He was spotted heading towards Rose Street - just 75 metres from the town’s police station - yesterday.

Police were called to the store, which opened under two weeks ago, just before 8pm.

When they attended the store the suspect had already left the scene but he had returned the trees.

Officers say they are carrying out enquiries to identify the suspect.
