MORE than 800 calls and 150 e-mails have poured in to investigators seeking clues to the identity of mystery musician dubbed Piano Man by the world media.
Today officials said they were still sifting through the mass of information on "Mr X" - He has not spoken but has the talent of a piano virtuoso. He is being cared for by specialist doctors at the Little Brook Hospital in Dartford.
Claims that he has been identified have flooded in from Italy, France, Canada and Belgium, but none of the reports have so far stood up to scrutiny.
A spokesman for the hospital said: "At this stage he has not been identified. We understand there have been a number of media reports suggesting names and nationalities, but we have not been able to confirm any of these."
He said the investigation was going to be a long process because of the large amount of information flowing into the National Missing Persons Helpline.
Mr X is staying at the Little Brook Hospital, in Bow Arrow Lane, Dartford. He was found walking along a beach on the Isle of Sheppey last month dressed in a drenched dinner suit. He amazed his carers with a four-hour virtuoso performance on a piano in the chapel at the Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham.
This week, the world media descended on Dartford and the Isle of Sheppey, with TV film crews, newspapers and magazines covering the story from as far afield as California, Italy, Japan, France and Germany.
