Officers are looking into a report that a woman was approached after leaving a shop in Main Road, Queenborough, and crossing over to Stanley Avenue.
It was there where a man came up behind her, stole her purse and punched her before running off at about 7pm on Saturday, November 16, last year.
The man is white, in his early 30s, bald, has a round face and a tear drop tattoo under his right eye.
He was wearing dark clothes and had a hood up.
A police spokesman said: "At this stage, we are appealing for anyone who recognises the man in the image to contact us as part of the ongoing investigation."
