Pupils’ minds were scrambled by the sudden appearance of a giant egg.
It appeared at Queenborough Primary to tie in with the school’s science week.
An actor in the guise of a special agent was on hand to help youngsters with their mission to discover what was inside the egg.
The exercise was devised to fire pupils’ imagination and at the end of the week, the most creative theory was judged the winner.
Year 6 teacher Christina Stapley said: “The children were so engaged. Every moment of the day they asked after the egg.
“It went to every classroom and parents got involved too, sharing their child’s theory on Twitter.
“Children were also searching the internet at home to find out what might be inside the egg. It really caught their imagination.”
