"Immoral" club in town

Religious leaders have condemned a newly-opened club which is purported to allow members to engage in erotic activities as "immoral".

High Street, Sheerness, has become home to Kent Swing Sensation – a members’ only club where couples can meet other couples, have a drink, and round off the night in one of the private rooms.

It has been branded “horrendous” by Sheppey’s Christian community leaders.

Swingers are traditionally known as people who indulge in partner-swapping and related activities.

The club has set up a website offering guest rooms which provide a “safe, secure, discrete, but most of all fun exciting environment”.

It has been received with disgust by the vicar of Sheerness and Queenborough John Streeting who said: “I am absolutely appalled, it sounds horrendous."

The only contact details on the website are telephone numbers for a woman called 'Mandy’.

The Times Guardian tried to contact 'Mandy’ but she declined to comment.

A spokesman for Swale council said sex shops and sex cinemas need a licence to operate but a swing club does not need one unless alcohol is sold on the premises.

He said the council would check if alcohol was being sold at the club.
